The Ministry of Municipal Affairs assists municipalities in providing well-managed collaborative and accountable local government to Albertans.The Director is accountable for the development of safety codes standards and legislation adopted in Alberta in order to provide Albertans with a safe healthy and accessible built environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of provincial policy and legislation regarding Alberta's safety codes to achieve government and department goals.
  • Establish maintain relationships with federal/provincial/territorial counterparts.
