Responsibilities:


  • Lead designbuild estimate teams through RFPs for designbuild projects throughout Canada.
  • Manage and provide input into estimating, costs, profitability, budget and risk management across multiple projects.
  • Provide clear direction and technical guidance to Project execution team members.
  • Supervise the solicitation of trades regarding bid invitations, subtrade teaming agreements, pricing, addenda, and proposal submissions.
  • Supervise estimating staff's quantity takeoffs for all areas of the estimate while ensuring the takeoff is well notated for handover to the project team and includes safety and security requirements required by Ledcor policies and applicable legislation.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects, and performs complete estimates on selected projects consisting of project site visits, quantity takeoff, and pricing.
  • Evaluate and present or support the presentation of estimate proposals with the executive.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates by interpreting historical data.
  • Work within an integrated multidiscipline group in both estimating and operations to ensure efficiencies are realized to offer the best value in pricing and maximum profit.
  • Work with design teams to ensure the design not only matches the specification, but is also focused on an efficient design with cost control at the forefront.
  • Work with manufacturers and service providers to obtain quotations to meet customer technical and performance specifications.
  • Recording and comparing bids from multiple vendors and subcontractors
  • Finding ways to reduce costs of equipment and supplies
  • Preparing an complete estimate with focus on an enterprise solution
  • Understanding of construction contracts
  • Taking off bill of materials BOM
  • Preparing changes to costs estimates when customers change their plans
  • Preparing schedules for construction progress to let customers know how long projects will take
  • Making reports about expenses for the duration of the project
  • Visiting job sites and analyzing blueprints and plans
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Communicate with Delco Team to ensure the project success.
  • Work with mínimal supervision.
  • Review and interpretation of electrical drawings.
  • Compliance of Delco Security Health and Safety program.
  • Documentation of "As Built" changes to installation design.
  • Work out of town frequently.
  • Care and maintenance of all corporate assets
  • Work with Contractors, Consultants and Sub-Contractors to maintain the schedule and budget of Technology/IMIT scopes in construction projects through analysis of design solutions.
  • Participate in the validation of Pursuit and Design Development activities during the Pursuits, Design Development, Construction and Commissioning phases of each project.
  • Develop procedures and working practices for effective communication and increased efficiency in Pursuit, Design Development, Budgeting/Estimation and Risk Analysis.
  • Identify partnerships and efficiencies within the Pursuits process to support Plan Group as the vendor of choice.
  • Contribute to the Business Development of Technology related opportunities for Plan Group. This includes attending seminars, trade shows and client sponsored events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years' technology consulting and/or Technology/IMIT construction industry experience. Focus on Division 25, 27 & 2
  • Minimum 5 years of project manag
