Compensation:
$100, $120,000.00 per annum

Position Summary:


As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role within both the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Departmental Management Team (DMT).


At the core of your responsibilities is the leadership of our internal operations with a keen emphasis on nurturing positive organizational accountability, driving effective employee engagement and fostering innovation to amplify operational efficiency.


In your role, you will be instrumental in mentoring and developing a high-performing team dedicated to fostering a service-oriented culture that remains responsive to the ever-evolving needs of the communities we serve.

The departments under your leadership include Health Services, Family Services, Newcomer Services, IT & Maintenance and Community Development.

In addition, you will maintain critical dotted-line reporting relationships with our HR, Finance, and Marketing departments, ensuring integrated operational support that spans employee engagement, financial management and communication strategies.


Equally vital is your role as a bridge builder, actively nurturing professional relationships with community stakeholders and funders at all levels.

Your ability to remain attuned to region-wide initiatives and developments within the sector is instrumental in our mission's continued success.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Leadership:


  • Build and lead an effective and cohesive senior management team with effective succession planning.
  • Evaluate the senior management team.
  • Represent Indus to government, regulatory authorities, funders and the general public as delegated by and in collaboration with the CEO.
  • Manage the vision and longterm operational strategy for Indus.
  • Effectively communicate and implement the Strategic Plan as approved by the Indus' Board and CEO.
  • Oversee operating plans and budgets for each program area.
  • Ensure the development of Indus' business case for renewed and new funding as well as managing the grant proposal process to meet the organization's vision and Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborate and support government initiatives to support agency growth.

Operations and controls:


  • Oversee operations, privacy, facilities and maintenance including staff relations letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements.
  • Provide guidance and leadership through management of program metrics and measurement reporting process.
  • Oversee administrative and facility functions for all Indus sites, ensuring smooth daily operations of offices and program sites.
  • Provide staff support and guidance to the Indus Board of Directors and act as liaison to relevant board and staff committees.
  • Champion the integration of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles into all aspects of the organization's operations, fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace culture.

Communication and Reporting:


  • Liaise with the CEO and keep them informed of all issues emerging.
  • Attend Indus' board and committee meetings as needed.
  • Attend ELT meetings and lead the DMT meetings.
