Job Description Summary:_


Under the direction of the Service Supervisor, the Field Service Technician will ensure high quality work,installations, and repairs to our products at customer sites.

The Service Technician also helps our customers with training, maintenance, and trouble shooting SGI products.

As a key contributor to the Service Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional quality and craftsmanship in every project we deliver.

Must be willing and able to work in and around machines and equipment.

Must be willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally, be able to obtain and drive rental cars, possess a valid Canadian passport.

Responsibilities:_

  • Travel to customer sites to install SGI products. Responsible to meet customer's needs during installations. This includes portraying a good image of Septimatech, solving production problems for customers and training the customer in the use of the supplied product.
  • Work with Service Supervisor and Customer Service Coordinator to schedule installations at customer sites.
  • Responsible for reviewing the Scope of Projects to ensure the customers needs and expectations are understood, and the proper tools and equipment are obtained before starting any installations.
  • Responsible for providing detailed feedback for root cause analysis to design, sales, or manufacturing teams for corrective action. This includes drawings and measurements and any recommendations for improvement.
  • Responsible for completing all ISO documentation, reports, within the scope of the job including but not limited to, Customer Supplied Product / Non-Conforming material, Service Report, In field Action reports,expense reports, hazard assessment checklists and Customer Request Forms.
  • Responsible for following standard installation procedures.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting problems and modifying or fabricating parts as required at the job site either with or without drawings.
  • Responsible to meet customer's needs during installations. This includes portraying a good image of the Septimatech brand and Septimatech's products.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings for pre and post Service work.
  • Provide clear communication with Customers, Engineering, Sales and other department heads.
  • Work in compliance with the company's Health & Safety policies and procedures, the OHSA and Regulations and any relevant Health & Safety legislation.
  • Take special care at customer plants to meet their safety standards and have appropriate safety equipment in place for the job.
  • In case of no customer safety regulations, Septimatech's standards are considered to be the minimum requirement for safety and Septimatech's policies are to be followed.

Key Qualifications:_

  • Minimum of community college degree or equivalent from twoyear college or technical school; including a minimum of 4 years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a trade certification or equivalent with 3 5 years' experience in a machining environment. ie Machinist, Tool & Die, Millwright
  • Must be able to manufacture parts on conventional mills or lathes.
  • Experience with welding (Tig and Arc) is required.
  • Must be able to read standard vernier calipers and micrometers in both Imperial and Metric systems.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to speak and communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations, to relay technical / mechanical data.
