    R&D Lab Technician

    Apex Life Sciences is searching for a R&D Lab Technician for our client in Mississauga, ON. Our client is in the Medical Device industry and is looking for someone with a background in chemistry, experience with titrations and pH measurements, spectrometers, and good communication skills. This position is a rolling 3-6-month contract opportunity working on the day shift, with possibility of a full-time job offer.

    Client: Medical Device Manufacturer

    Contract: 3-6 month contract (possibility for conversion)

    Location: Mississauga, ON (onsite work required)

    Responsibilities:

  • Supports R&D scientists by assisting with experiments/tests/validations as required.
  • Manages the calibration of laboratory equipment and maintains associated records.
  • Manages chemical inventory and waste management.
  • Ensures the overall maintenance/cleanliness of the R&D laboratory.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with relevant GMP/GLP guidelines.
  • Assists in ensuring that the appropriate standards of performance are maintained with regards to Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance.
  • Manages/monitors maintenance and usage of lab equipment, report any deficiencies to their immediate manager or designate.
  • Participates in the development and updating of any R&D related quality system processes and/or documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Chemical Wet Lab Experience (in scientific industry or in academic environment
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PPT, etc) and statistical analysis
  • Excellent detail orientation.
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking abilities, planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong understanding of general experimental methodologies, data analysis and the presentation of scientific results.
  • Experience working in a lab environment.
  • Experience using a wide variety of laboratory equipment.
  • Computer literacy - experience using commonly used laboratory software in a Microsoft Office environment.
  • Health and Safety experience is an asset.
  • Experience in a medical device area an asset.
