Purpose

  • Develop the manufacturing schedule in order to maximize production throughput according to the priority of customer orders and machine capabilities.

Areas of responsibility

  • Coordinate the scheduling of customer orders with manufacturing equipment capacities to ensure the plant is level loaded, work flow is consistent and timely, as well as delivery reliability to customers
  • Create work orders and set daily machine schedules.
  • Establish delivery dates, based on the developed schedule, for customers and transmit to sales representatives, respond to changes and provide required updates.
  • Develop plans for rescheduling due to equipment breakdown, rush orders, nonconformances and/or changes in quantity or quality of orders to be able to provide accurate delivery information for customers.
  • Identify over loaded and under loaded machines as well as conflicting machine usage throughout the plant and make scheduling changes accordingly as part of effective sequencing.
  • Attend production meetings and report any customer complaints, concerns, or issues pertinent to the scheduling team to make effective production scheduling decisions.
  • Issue instructions to production supervisors on any critical orders and identify any out of ordinary conditions that require attention.
  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the planning and scheduling with Top-Down and Bottom-Up approach to ensure the individual production line schedules are integrated into Master Schedule.
  • Address issues in safety, productivity and profitability and participate in developing proactive solutions.
  • Liaison between production, inside sales and customer service teams from a customer demand perspective.
  • Continuous management of WIP flow through to FG Production.
  • Implement the MTD production results vs. Baseline into the sequencing strategy to achieve the targeted results at all levels of production group.
  • Create shipment planning report to ensure work orders within next 1012 weeks are released for production.
  • Manually update the orders in SAP (i.e. Complete in Full, TECO or remake)
  • Support Physical Inventory
  • Accountable to review COGI's and resolve issues or delegate to responsible department for resolution.
  • Responsible to provide corrections and updates to Master Data within scope of control to QA Manager (including BOM/Route/Costing etc)
  • Facilitate and support any initiatives or projects to meet company strategy and KPI objectives
  • Support and administer Nexans Innovation (i.e. Connected Drums)
  • Participate in the quality improvement process to ensure ISO registration.
  • Create a schedule for the plant which will support company objectives (OTIF, Safety, Flow, NEW Maint, etc)
  • Liaise between plant and sales team to meet customer expectations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • College diploma or degree in Business Administration or similar.
  • 23 years experience in scheduling production (experience in wire and cable industry would be an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Have a strong understanding of the production process including machine capacities.
  • Time management, organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Have an understanding of products, sales, marketing and finance.
