A Day in the Life

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide Environmental Manager Services overseeing the Environmental department at an operaational min in Northern BC
  • The position will be a term position with a duration of 36 months with an option to extend further
  • The position will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring site is operated win compliance with permit and other regulatory requirements, Company's Environmental Policy, Company's Environemtal Management System and Company's Environmental Commitments to regulators, Frist Nations and other stakeholders
  • Managing Environmental programs site wide to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and commitments
  • Implementing and effectively communicating environmental policies and standards
  • Understanding and interpreting environmental permit and regulatory requirements for site staff and anticipating requirements for permit amendments to limit impacts to production
  • Project management (environmental works), Departmental budget development and management

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Earth/Environmental Schiences, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
  • A relevant environmental designation, such as R.P. Bio or P.Ag is an asset
  • 710 years' experience implementing technical environmental programs, with experience in a management role
  • Broadbased experience with environmental aspects related to the mining industry, including but not limited to active water treatment, water quality, air quality, environmental effects monitoring, permitting, regulatory liaison and consultation with stakeholders and First Nations
  • Experience in working with multi0disciplinary teams to meet operational objectives, develop programs to manage risks, meet corporate and stakeholder requirements and maintain compliance
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies, Frist Nations, and other stakeholders
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems
