Pork Production Technician
People & Culture Services is recruiting on behalf of a family-owned agricultural business, located near Shakespeare, Ontario. We are looking for a Pork Production Technician to join the team.


Job Duties:


  • Ensure all animals have access to feed and water
  • Handle and move animals as needed
  • Perform production tasks including heat checking, breeding, farrowing, piglet processing, weaning and vaccinating
  • Perform regular health checks to recognize and treat livestock health problems
  • Administer medications as needed
  • Record various information to maintain livestock production records
  • Monitor the barn environment and make adjustments to systems as required
  • Perform general barn maintenance including pressure washing, disinfecting pens and other housekeeping activities
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance & repairs
  • Follow all biosecurity procedures

Requirements for Application:


  • Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Able to read, write and speak English
  • Experience working with livestock
  • Flexible availability weekend work is required
  • Selfmotivated

Compensation:

- $18-$22 per hour depending on experience
