Pork Production Technician
People & Culture Services is recruiting on behalf of a family-owned agricultural business, located near Shakespeare, Ontario. We are looking for a Pork Production Technician to join the team.
Job Duties:
- Ensure all animals have access to feed and water
- Handle and move animals as needed
- Perform production tasks including heat checking, breeding, farrowing, piglet processing, weaning and vaccinating
- Perform regular health checks to recognize and treat livestock health problems
- Administer medications as needed
- Record various information to maintain livestock production records
- Monitor the barn environment and make adjustments to systems as required
- Perform general barn maintenance including pressure washing, disinfecting pens and other housekeeping activities
- Perform minor equipment maintenance & repairs
- Follow all biosecurity procedures
Requirements for Application:
- Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition
- Able to work in a fastpaced environment
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Experience working with livestock
- Flexible availability weekend work is required
- Selfmotivated
Compensation:
- $18-$22 per hour depending on experience
Reliable transportation required
