Salary:

$ $49.70, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.


Description:


The contract will consist of 45 hours of lecture + 30 hours of lab + additional prep time for a total of 142.5 hours.

**QUALIFICATIONS:

_Required:
_


  • Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences, or closely related field, or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.

_ Preferred:
_


  • PhD in Environmental Sciences, or a closely related field
  • Five years of work experience in a related discipline, including a significant amount of field work as part of the work experience.
  • Experience in reclamation and remediation in the oil and gas industry in northeastern BC.
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education.
  • Demonstrable success as an instructor in a postsecondary environment.
