What you'll do:


  • Construction, installation, and repair of Broadband infrastructure including repairing or replacing faulty cables, installing broadband electronics, replacing faulty broadband electronics, etc.
  • Perform required work on both coaxial and fibre optic cables
  • Use advanced equipment to conduct signal leakage monitoring and broadband forward and reverse sweeps as required
  • Provide Westman customers with a positive experience regarding equipment and services
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality control guidelines and company policies and procedures

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • 2year Electronic Technician course or NCTI, SCTE System and Service Technician courses or SCTE Broadband Distribution Specialist Certification, with a minimum mark of 80% in each course
  • Experience in installation and repair of electronics or networks is considered an asset
  • Experience in residential wiring or construction is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the public in a customer focused environment; customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to understand fibre optic/broadband maps and understand of construction wiring practices
  • Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude
  • Valid certification in Basic Rescuer CPR and Emergency First Aid
  • Must have no fear of heights and be able to carry 75 lbs
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing to work shifts, to be oncall, and available for emergency service
