Duties and responsibilities:


The Shipper/Warehouse Technician coordinates the warehouse activity and is responsible for the packing and shipping of recyclable materials using the crushing machinery and depot equipment.


Duties include:


  • Preparing containers and nonlegislated materials for shipping, which may include sorting, crushing, packing, and palletizing materials
  • Loading and unloading trailers by hand or using depot equipment (ie: pallet jack, forklift, etc.) and completing related paperwork
  • Maintaining the depot building and equipment, performing cleaning duties as needed
  • Bending, climbing, stretching, lifting, toting, and standing for long periods of time is required
  • Follow safety procedures and safe work practices in compliance with policies
  • Attend training and workshops as required
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Work as part of a team

Qualifications:


  • Forklift certificate; or must achieve with onthejob training within the first two weeks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required
  • Physical stamina (position requires standing for long periods of time)
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
