Cheme Technology Transfer Specialists are leaders who will lead a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of projects and provide coaching, and mentorship to younger staff.


Main Duties & Responsibilities will include:

Technology Transfer

  • Oversight of the technology transfer lifecycle, including planning, execution and monitoring activities.
  • Oversight of facility readiness assessments.
  • Oversight of equipment selection, sizing calculations and P&ID development against client requirements
  • Preparation of tech transfer supporting documentation, including knowledge transfer packages, protocols, gap analyses and risk assessments
  • Management and/or preparation of operational documentation, including batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Coordinate with the various departments involved in the transfer, including Research and Development, Analytical Development and Testing, QA, Engineering and Operations.
  • Planning of PersoninPlant (PIP) support
  • Management of safety assessments based on process, facility and equipment requirements.
  • Support development and improvement activities including raw material/intermediate/product freeze/thaw studies, mixing studies and/or process scaleup.
  • Support capacity planning activities.

Project Management

  • Management of assigned team members
  • Project scope definition and
  • Preparation of proposals
  • Primary point of contact with clients
  • Preparation and maintenance of budgets and schedules
  • Leadership of project execution including coordination of contractors, vendors, and progress reporting to the client Travel to client sites for site review and troubleshooting

Requirements:


  • Minimum required education
  • Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Engineering, or;
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a physical science
  • Designation as a Project Management Professional is not required but is considered an asset
  • Project management and process development or technology transfer skills with 3 years of current work experience
  • Experience managing capital projects from $5,000$20,000,000
  • Experience executing projects in a GMPregulated environment is considered a strong asset
  • Management of projects, systems, staff, clients, money, and business relationships.
  • Supervision of team members
  • Training and development of junior staff
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with clients
  • Adept at dealing with client's and other people in a professional and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of common business practices and techniques such as quoting, preparation of requirements, marketing and sales.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Project to create schedules, and track project resources.
  • Use of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office Suite to navigate a server environment and prepare engineering documents
