Job summary
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Bioinformatician. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.This job involves working as part of a team to develop new bioinformatics approaches and maintain existing databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and implementing new tools, improving performance efficiency by optimizing software and pipelines. They will also work closely with trainees in both 'wet' and 'dry' labs to ensure they have the necessary skills to carry out their research effectively.,
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum two years experience in bioinformatics preferably working with genomics.
