Position Description:

Under the direct supervision of the YWCA Director of Community Programs, the Gender-based Violence Prevention Coordinator is responsible for the direct service provision and ongoing coordination of YWCA Regina Y's Kids Programming (Children Exposed to Violence, Run Club, Connections Recreation Group as well as, Power of Being You Conference).

Through a trauma-informed lens, these programs support women and families with varying experiences with gender-based violence and trauma.

The role may vary depending on community needs and program growth, this may include special projects and tasks as assigned.

The coordinator will work collaboratively with all other Community Programs department and contribute to a positive workplace culture aligning with YWCA values.

The coordinator will act as a YWCA representative in collaboration with community members and other agencies in a manner that encourages collaboration, builds community, and maintains a positive profile of YWCA Regina.

This role is responsible for ensuring program requirements are met and will work within the guidelines, polices, values, and strategic plan of the YWCA Regina Inc.


Responsibilities:
Administration & Accountability - Maintain complete client records, detailed case notes, and proper file maintenance;

  • Collaborate with YWCA Shelters and Staff to support access to Programming;
  • Regular communication with team members and Leadership to ensure efficient and effective service;
  • Act as a representative of YWCA and foster positive professional relationships with external organizations & collaborators;
  • Participate in training aligning with YWCA policy, frameworks, and strategic plan;
  • Respond to program inquiries and provide formal and informal referrals;
  • Budget tracking and proper receipt management aligning with established procedures;
  • Advertise and maintain positive profile of programs within the community;
  • Assist with program reporting and review

  • Oversee implementation and effective execution of programs in accordance with agency policy & established standards;
  • Conduct intakes, checkins, followups and referrals with and for participants;
  • Establish and implement evaluation including monthly statistical records aligning with existing procedures;
  • Recruit, screen, train, mentor, and coach volunteers ensuring YWCA values and frameworks are upheld;
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing levels to execute work of the program effectively and safely;
  • Provide onetoone support for participants as needed;
  • Plan, advertise, coordinate, and execute the Power of Being You Conference;
  • Develop skill building activities and programming that aligns with YWCA values backed by research and best practice;
  • Expected to develop further familiarity with Indigenous cultures, peoples, organizations, and anticolonial practices.
