    Description

    Reporting to the Director ofClinical Service, the Registered Dietitian is responsible for educating andsupporting adult and paediatric clients/support(s) regarding all components ofdiabetes management such as insulin use, capillary blood glucose monitors andits respective technology. This position will support clients with skillsrequired for carbohydrate counting and development of insulin to carbohydrateratios as appropriate. Additionally, this position provides appropriateeducation and assessment of nutritional care needs of the client byinterpreting biochemical and physiological data and calculating nutritionalrequirements. The Registered Dietitian will revise individualized nutritionalcare planning and assess nutrition and medication interactions.

    Position Requirements:

    • Registered Dietitianand a member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario isrequired.
    • Certified DiabetesEducator (CDE), or working towards is required.
    • Three (3) to five (5)years teaching skills/experience with the Diabetes population required.
    • Experience with thepaediatric population an asset.
    • Excellent publicspeaking skills required.
    • Demonstrated knowledgeof computer programs including the Microsoft Office Suite, Meditech ispreferred.
    • Eligible for membershipwith Dietitians of Canada is an asset.
    • Member of EducatorSection of Diabetes Canada is an asset.
    • Excellentorganizational skills required.
    • Must demonstratecommitment to ensure their safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients,volunteers, and visitors.
    • Must support and contributeto a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in thisorganization.
    • Good attendance andwork record required.
