Summary of Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Care, the Mental Health Worker is responsible for assisting and supporting residents with mental health concerns to live in the community.
This includes learning about life skills enhancement, housekeeping, shopping, cooking and meeting the resident's goals in his or her Recovery Plan.
This position requires administration of medications, documentation and following policies and procedures for the facility.Qualifications Required:
- Secondary School Graduation
- Mental Health Worker or PSR certificate or the equivalent of education and experience
- One year of recent direct experience working as a mental health worker
- Speak, read and write English fluently
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Food Safe Certificate
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Recent criminal record check
Days and Hours of work:
weekdays or holidays; day shifts: 8:00-16:00, evening shifts: 16:00-24:00, and night shifts: 00:00-8:00.
