The Quality Specialist will report to the Quality Supervisor


Job Overview


The quality specialist completes all general tasks necessary for assuring smooth, and accurate flow of information and provides necessary assistance for QMS and completion of Quality Assurance.

The role is best suited for an individual that is a team player along with a positive attitude and is quick to learn.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • SPC and Basic Statistics in collection, distribution, sampling, testing, and charting of data
  • SPOS and critical path methodologies
  • Monitor and follow up on the CAR system to ensure items are completed and closed
  • Process flows, ability to develop and follow plans
  • FMEA to identify the parts of a process that are in need of change
  • Problemsolving strategies, 5 P's, Why, Why's, proven root cause analysis techniques.
  • Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives including investigation, drawing conclusions, presenting and implementation
  • Provide production support, as required; Control of NC Product & Containment;
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in place to maintain a robust quality and environmental management system
  • Responsible for developing and preparing training packages and educate associates on our QMS/EMS and methods
  • Organize, participate and champion regulatory inspections and internal/external ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits and prep followup meeting on results
  • Assess and audit processes and procedures to ensure compliance with our QMS/ EMS as well as ISO9001 / 14001 standards
  • SPS Licensed M.H.E Operator
  • Support Production as required
  • Follow, participate, monitor activity to completion, and make recommendations regarding safety, environmental performance, quality, productivity, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and customer feedback
  • Escalate to manager any concerns regarding QMS/EMS compliance and communicate with the department in charge and/or implement actions to close the gap, nonconformance, or finding
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Leader

Qualifications

  • Regular Full-Time Associate/ or Contract Associate Level 2 or greater.
  • Completion of Gr. 12/OSSD or equivalent
  • Postsecondary and or vocational program training specific to ASQ quality, CQE, CQIA
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Quality Role
  • Advanced knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 1400
  • Advanced Computer experience in MS office suite specifically Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and Power Point
  • Previous experience in an Automotive Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Completion or working towards ASQ certification
  • Must be able to work shifts as required. (Please see above)
  • Advanced process auditing skills
  • Ability to train others
  • Strong customer service mindset, comfortable interacting with customer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven skills in change management, ie launch of new business, design/installation of new or changed processes
