    The Plant Accountant duties include maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger and related financial statements, coordinating relevant aspects of the financial close process, performing account reconciliations and analysis to verify accuracy, journal entries, completing and issuing Corporate reporting, liasing with Corporate functions, maintaining relevant internal controls, addressing audit requirements, and processing and reporting to meet local and Corporate tax requirements. This role will also provide first-level support to Administrator staff.

    Duties:

    • Perform branch accounting activities and take a leading role in the financial close process - journal entries, reconciliations, review, approvals, controls, reports, etc.
    • Complete Corporate reporting requirements as needed (ongoing and ad hoc).
    • Ensure financial statement compliance with Corporate and regulatory accounting requirements.
    • Perform local tax accounting and reporting requirements.
    • Maintain relevant controls and address internal and external audit requirements.
    • Respond to ad hoc requests and report requirements as needed.


    Qualifications: 

    • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business or related
      • 1+  years of finance and accounting experience 
      • Demonstrated understanding and application of accounting concepts and Canadian GAAP
      • Experience financial close processes and issuing financial statements
      • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
      • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
      • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, demonstrated leadership abilities

      Compensation

      Salary ranges from $70,000 to $75,000 based on experience.
