McMan is recruiting for a
LEAD
CLINICIAN to join our team on a one-year term role.

Clinicians are responsible for providing direct counseling with individuals and families through a client centered, strength-based approach, and to provide clinical consultation to agency staff.


Some of the key aspects of this role include:

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation as per program expectations, organizational policy, accreditation and related professional standards.
  • Reflect and integrate McMan's service delivery model which encompasses; Trauma Informed Practice, Natural Supports Framework and a Relational Approach in clinical practice and modality.
  • As required, participate in wraparound teams to provide clinical support and perspective.
  • Provide clinical consultation for program staff to support client goal attainment and crisis response.
  • Provide grief and loss debriefing for staff teams as needed.
  • Connect youth and families to appropriate community resources and services when applicable.
  • Provide counselling support delivery through a culturally sensitive and inclusive lens.
  • Develop a client centered helping relationship that aligns with the values of the organization.
  • Work from a collaborative teambased approach to achieve program and client outcomes as applicable
  • Respond and report emergency and crisis situations following appropriate procedures, ensuring the safety and security of self and clients.
  • Participate in program evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain proficiency on the program specific data collection systems, measurement tools and reporting requirements.
  • Work from a flexible schedule in order to meet client, program and organizational needs.
  • Ability to assess risk (suicide and selfharm) and support youth and families through the crisis.
  • Manage workload, multiple priorities and administrative responsibilities with mínimal supervision
  • Provide staff and client training on relevant topics.
  • Keep up to date on new trends and research.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Reflect and demonstrate the organizations vision, mission and goals in your work.
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner.
  • Complete and maintain all professional standards and trainings related to the position.
  • Understand and act in accordance with the legislation, policies, standards and procedures of the program and Organization.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with colleagues across all agency programs, as well as external stakeholders to foster consistency and collaboration of services.
  • Develop an understanding of all agency programs and how clinical needs and services can exist within each.
  • Ensure accuracy, confidentiality and safekeeping of organizational records
  • A Master's level degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work and registration with the appropriate College.
  • Strong research and evaluation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead a cohesive team.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills, time management skills and very sound comprehension of boundaries.
  • Minimum of three years' related experience working with children youth and families. Previous experience in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with culturally diverse clients.
  • DBT Skills Training certification and interests are preferred
  • A current (no more than 6 months old) Police/Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention check.
  • This role requires flexibility in work hours together with evenings and weekends.
