What you will do:


  • Accounts Payable:_
  • Process all invoices for payment through invoice routing system and enter into accounting system
  • Process cheque runs
  • Maintain A/P subledger of accounting system
  • Reconciliation of vendor accounts
  • Manage internal and external customer queries pertaining to A/P
  • A/P filing
  • Accounts Receivable:_
  • Importing of event clients and invoices from events system
  • Process all manual invoice requests
  • Taking client payments in a timely fashion
  • Recording of deposits
  • Maintain A/R subledger of accounting system
  • Collection of client accounts
  • Manage internal and external customer queries pertaining to A/R
  • Other Responsibilities:_
  • Prepare and/or import journal entries from the sales system
  • Daily Finance mail distribution
  • Comply with the organization's Health and Safety program
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will bring:


  • 3 years' experience in an accounting environment specifically experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Account Reconciliations
  • Familiarity with computerized accounting systems preferably Blackbaud's Financial Edge and Papersave System
  • Experience with an electronic accounts payable invoice approval system
  • Well developed organizational and communication skills

Working Conditions:


  • This position requires the individual to be seated and working at a computer terminal for the majority of the day
  • There is also use of filing cabinets to maintain files and occasionally refers to boxed files (on site and in storage) to address inquiries


The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions.

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues.
