We are currently looking for a Central Production Planner to join our team in Richmond, BC.


PURPOSE OF POSITION

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY:


  • Comply with and enforces all Nortrak safety policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrates safety leadership when out in plants.

QUALITY:


  • Demonstrates strong support of the capacity planning, providing guidance and coordination with regards to ontimedelivery.
  • Work with Central Planning team on continuous improvement measures
  • Production and SAP processes and procedures.
  • Work with Central Planning Team to develop tools and resources to meet company growth goals.

ON-TIME DELIVERY:


  • Continues to support improvements of the capacity planning efforts of the company and demonstrates and shares SAP knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment where things are constantly changing.
  • Responsible for quoting Bid Manufacturing Lead times.
  • Working with Sales, Plant Management and Project Management to levelload incoming orders based upon quoted lead times, priority and capacity.
  • Working with Sales, Project Management and Plant Production teams on schedule revisions to meet deadlines.
  • Work closely with Central Planning Manager on customer forecasting and stocking levels.
  • Support Sales Team and customers by communicating capacity availability and lead times.

COST:


  • Closely monitors projects and processes and brings areas of concern to the forefront at the early stages.
  • Identify and make adjustments to high running parts for stocking levels.
  • Monitor and report on changes in order intake or product mix.

  • Identify current bottlenecks and escalate information to appropriate teams.
  • Work with Foundry and Purchasing teams to monitor manganese supply to meet internal needs.
  • Maintain good communication and cooperation between themselves, their group and other groups within the organization.
  • Must be able to work independently.

ENVIRONMENTAL:


  • Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
Other duties as assigned.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Travel to each plant location to support Plant Production Planners.

QUALITIFCATIONS:


EDUCATION:


  • Post Secondary education with a degree in industrial logistics management, production planning, industrial management, or related discipline.

FIELD OF EXPERIENCE:


  • Five to seven years' experience in a Production Planning position in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in supervisory level would be an asset.
  • Experienced in logistics coordination.
  • SAP knowledge would be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office standard, MS Projects and special programs.
  • Advanced programming skills in MS Excel would be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge in reading mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit strong and effective verbal and negotiation skills.
  • Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Experience in the trackwork industry preferred.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Must be able to lift or handle up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel may be required which includes walking, standing, sitting and driving from short to long periods of time.
