    GreenFirst is looking for a Superintendent to plan, organize and direct operations (sawmill and planer mill) to ensure consistent production of high-quality products at the lowest possible cost and promote sound human resources management and to also maintain the alignment of the sawmill and planning mills with the principles and objectives defined in the Results Management Framework, working within the concept of optimizing the overall profitability of the site.

    Responsibilities:

    Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, support Health & Safety Program.

    Lead a motivated, efficient and engaged team of direct reports and provide career development opportunities.

    Coach and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance.

    Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.

    Maintain a communications program to keep your team informed regarding mill and department priorities

    Reports to: General Manager

    Establish the production schedules and coordinate manufacturing operations in cooperation with the various departments to ensure that product quality meets specifications.

    Manage operations with a focus on maintaining or reducing the annual budget and generating an optimal profit margin on converted products.

    Optimize use of human resources by promoting good labour relations, sound training, health, safety and environmental practices to maximize efficiency.

    Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets and financial objectives (cost control and reduction).

    Keep production schedules up-to-date to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, specifications and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

    Implement manufacturing of value-added products.

    Collaborate with other staff to develop and implement processes for continuous improvement in quality and production.

    Promote sound management and ensure that training needs of operations are identified and completed.

    Comply with Company rules, policies, programs and procedures as well as all health, safety and environmental legislation.

    In conjunction with other operating departments, determine the manning composition required for the site and the necessary training required to meet manning objectives.

    Additional duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience in Production.

    Strong analytical skills are required.

    A college diploma or university degree would be an asset.

    English, spoken and written, French would be considered an asset.

    GreenFirst recherche un(e) surintendant(e) charge(e) de planifier, d'organiser et de diriger les operations (scierie et usine de rabotage) afin d'assurer une production constante de produits de haute qualite au cout le plus bas possible et de promouvoir une bonne gestion des ressources humaines, ainsi que de maintenir l'alignement de la scierie et des usines de rabotage sur les principes et les objectifs definis dans le cadre de gestion des resultats, en travaillant dans le concept d'optimisation de la rentabilite globale du site.

    Responsabilites:

    Promouvoir et assurer la securite du lieu de travail, rechercher des ameliorations, soutenir le programme de sante et de securite.

    Diriger une equipe de collaborateurs directs motives, efficaces et engages et offrir des possibilites de developpement de carriere.

    Encadrer et guider les employes afin de garantir des performances optimales.

    Favoriser le respect de la convention collective et de bonnes relations entre le syndicat, la direction et les employes.

    Maintenir un programme de communication afin de tenir votre equipe informee des priorites de l'usine et du service.

    Le titulaire du poste releve du Directeur general

    Etablir les calendriers de production et coordonner les operations de fabrication en collaboration avec les differents services afin de s'assurer que la qualite des produits est conforme aux specifications.

    Gerer les operations en se concentrant sur le maintien ou la reduction du budget annuel et en generant une marge beneficiaire optimale sur les produits transformes.

    Optimiser l'utilisation des ressources humaines en favorisant de bonnes relations de travail, une formation solide et des pratiques en matiere de sante, de securite et d'environnement afin de maximiser l'efficacite.

    Elaborer et mettre en uvre des plans pour utiliser efficacement les materiaux, la main-d'uvre et les equipements afin d'atteindre les objectifs de production et les objectifs financiers (controle et reduction des couts).

    Tenir a jour les programmes de production afin de verifier les donnees relatives aux produits, telles que les types, les quantites, les specifications et les dates de livraison prevues, en vue de planifier les operations du departement.

    Mettre en uvre la fabrication de produits a valeur ajoutee.

    Collaborer avec les autres membres du personnel pour elaborer et mettre en uvre des processus d'amelioration continue de la qualite et de la production.

    Promouvoir une gestion saine et veiller a ce que les besoins en formation des operations soient identifies et satisfaits.

    Respecter les regles, politiques, programmes et procedures de l'entreprise ainsi que l'ensemble de la legislation en matiere de sante, de securite et d'environnement.

    En collaboration avec d'autres departements operationnels, determiner la composition des effectifs requis pour le site et la formation necessaire pour atteindre les objectifs en matiere d'effectifs.

    Effectuer d'autres taches en fonction des besoins.

    Exigences:

    Au moins 5 ans d'experience dans la supervision de la production.

    De solides competences analytiques sont requises.

    Un diplome d'etudes collegiales ou universitaires serait un atout.

    Anglais, parle et ecrit, le francais serait un atout.
