    Position Scope

    The Control Technologist employs analytical and problem-solving skills to design comprehensive electrical control systems for automated production lines in the industrial food industry. The successful candidate is responsible for the system's overall design, including control panels and field devices, development and delivery of detailed schematics, and programming PLC and HMI in accordance with industry and client guidelines.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Design schematics, program PLC and HMI and test new control panels
  • Modify schematics and PLC/HMI programs on existing control panels
  • Troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs, electrical installation and wiring
  • Troubleshoot freezer application issues related to the operation, sanitation and maintenance
  • Complete field modification instructions
  • Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining final schematics and programs, maintaining customer service logs in a timely manner
  • Maintain communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
  • Train customer's operators
  • Escalate and report freezer issues and client complaints immediately
  • Meet Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Manage and handle incoming calls and answer customers' inquiries
  • Monitor all the freezers in the monitoring system and provide appropriate technical support, solutions, and alternatives within the time limits
  • Perform 24/7 roster shift schedules
  • Qualifications & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or automation equivalent field
  • Experienced in Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View and PowerFlex Drives
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns
  • Travel availability up to < 30%
  • Able to work on a rotating shift
