Practical Nursing Program

Responsibilities:
To provide instruction in Sociology (SOC 160/SOC 201) to adult students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program. Planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate Sociology course instruction to students. Manage classroom/lab activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide academic guidance. Attend scheduled meetings, and other duties as assigned. Evaluation of student progress using proscribed assessment measurement and oral report is ongoing during each semester.


Qualifications:
A master's degree in sociology is preferred.

A degree in a related discipline, in addition to experience in the industry will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Two years recent/relevant experience in business/industry or post-secondary education. Effective communication skills (oral and written). Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Effective instructional ability. Ability to arrange, maintain and evaluate resources. Demonstrates valuing diversity.


Remuneration:
As per DTI Sessional rate $65/hr
