Lafarge Construction provides Construction services in the Vancouver area. This position is located in Abbotsford and is currently seeking a full-timeLoader Operator.
- Proficient or certified in operation front end loader
- Experience with plant maintenance an asset
- Mining experience preferred
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Strong safety culture
- Wage is $37.45 per hour with increases every January
- Swing shift, 6:303pm / 10:30pm alternating each week. Additional $1.50 while on afternoon shift
- Union health and dental benefits
- Overtime
Responsibilities:
General Duties:
- Fully trained in the operations and capability of a front end wheel loader
- Assist the plant operator with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
- Performing repair/maintenance on the plant under the direction of plant foreman or lead hand.
- May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting
- Assist with a variety of job operations
- Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment
- Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist
- Monitoring and ensuring accurate weights
- Monitor material production within specifications
- Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product
- Create an atmosphere of teamwork
- Seek out and implement Best Practices
Safety & Enviornment:
- Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies training provided
- All spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)
Maintenance:
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on their loader including, includes washing and cleaning the operator's cab inside and out, greasing, refueling, and maintaining all fluid levels
- Responsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records for any piece of equipment operated, keeping accurate and thorough records of the maintenance performed, the hours on the unit, date, time, etc.; complete proof of regular service may be required
Qualifications:
- Capable of working in an outdoor environment year round
- A positive and proactive attitude towards teamwork and safety.
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge in general maintenance work
- Construction experience is an asset
