What You'll Get To Do

Reporting to the Flight Attendant Manager, the Inflight YRT Base Supervisor provides administrative and training support to the Rankin Inlet Flight Attendant Base.

This role will also assist in establishing and managing the new Rankin Inlet Flight Attendant Base.


Operations:


  • Assist the Cabin Safety Standards Coordinator and Flight Attendant Manager to develop and maintain an approved course of instruction for the Flight Attendant trainees
  • Assist with the hiring of new Flight Attendants
  • Assist with the administration duties of Flight Attendant trainees
  • Responsible for the daily monitoring of the Flight Attendants in the Rankin Inlet Base
  • Evaluate performance of the Rankin Inlet Base
  • Conduct ramp and inflight checks at the Rankin Inlet Base and Winnipeg Base
  • Review all flight reports for Winnipeg Base and Rankin Inlet Base and provide feedback to the Flight Attendant Manager
  • Daily administrative duties
  • Support and assist the Cabin Safety Standards Coordinator and Flight Attendant Manager
  • Ensure that all Transport Canada regulations and company policies are being followed
  • Assist with training, initial, requalification and annual, in accordance with approved training programs in order to achieve and maintain high performance levels of safety and passenger service in the Rankin Inlet Base
  • Perform periodic checks to assess procedures and individual performance in safety, emergency procedures, cabin service and passenger handling
  • Formally evaluate the performance of the Rankin Inlet Flight Attendants and report results to the Flight Attendant Manager
  • Monitor procedures in respect to passenger safety and handling and make recommendations for changes and/or improvements
  • Ensure that the Rankin Inlet Flight Attendants adhere to and fully understand the complete contents of the Flight Attendant Manual and those portions of the Operations Manual and its companion publications which relate to the Flight Attendant Roles and Responsibilities and coordinated crew member activity
  • Assist in issuing directives and notices to Flight Attendants as may be required
  • Participate in scheduled operations meetings for the purpose of maintaining effective liaison with other company departments as required
  • Coordinate all Flight Attendant uniforms for new hires and existing Flight Attendants
  • Coordinate and help maintain commissary with Procurement Manager in the Rankin Inlet Base and Winnipeg Base
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Safety & Leadership:


  • Promote occupational health and safety within your department and participate in the development and monitoring of safety training
  • Proactively communicate hazards and SMS initiatives with your department.
  • Embark on employment equity initiatives; engaging with all employees to promote employment equity and encouraging employees to undertake the selfdeclaration survey updating as necessary
  • All levels of the organization share responsibility for human rights within the organization, overseeing and promoting continuous improvement on human rights and employment equity initiatives


Managers, Supervisors and Leads - have been delegated the authority and are responsible to the Department Head to actively identify hazards and deficiencies and report through the SMS (Safety Management System) Program reporting system.

Communicate with all personnel within their respective department and other departments as required to maintain effective day to day activities.

Ensure regulatory and company standards are maintained. Assist in the development and maintenance of company processes and procedures. (Quality Assurance activities)
