- Work within a project team of engineers and designers in our Substation and Line Design Group;
- Assist with substation and overhead lines/underground cable routing layout & configuration design for high, medium, and low voltage projects;
- Assist with project development, scope, and budget;
- Attend client design review meetings;
- Conduct field site inspections and field reports;
- Gain knowledge of power system studies and analysis using engineering software packages such as PLS- CAD, EasyPower, SKM, ETAP, Win-IGS, CDEGS, and PS-CADD;
- Prepare electrical equipment specifications, electrical installation scope of work documents, and Performance specifications;
- Assisting the engineering teams with drafting and CAD updates to drawings;
- Prepare, review and complete drawing mark-ups;
- Prepare and issue drawing packages;
- The successful candidate should possess a Diploma or Certificate in Design or Drafting from a recognized institute
- Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an attention to detail are essential
- Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
- Entry Level Position. Previous experience working on HV Substation designs for Utilities in North America would be considered an asset
- Previous exposure to drafting software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD would be an asset
