For over 25 years AssessMed has been completing independent, unbiased, evidence-based medico-legal evaluations and file reviews to several markets including but not limited to, auto insurance, defense and plaintiff tort medicals, Accident Benefits, Catastrophic claims, Life and Health Disability referrals as well as cases from HR representatives throughout corporate Canada.

AssessMed is a true national provider with strategically located regional offices in BC, Alberta, Ontario (4), Quebec and the Maritime Provinces (2).


Responsibilities:


  • Answer phone in a timely manner, assist the caller or forward to the appropriate person/department
  • Greet all guests and offer coffee, tea, juice or water.
  • Process confirmation letters
  • Scan documents and save in p:drive
  • Daily filing
  • Chaperone Assessments
  • Save dictations
  • Organize parking
  • Prepare room distribution for the next day
  • Call transportation companies for return trips
  • Contact interpreter or transportation companies if evaluee or interpreter has not shown up for an assessment
  • Process Admin PF folder
  • Manage professional services requests as required
  • Receive incoming couriers and packages
  • Update SmartSimple when documents and files are received
  • Arrange outgoing couriers
  • Manage supply cabinet
  • Audit all filing cabinets
  • Maintain log book of all visitors
  • Issue online service requests for printer repairs and building management issues
  • Employee who is on the closing shift has to load paper into printers, tidy all offices, exam rooms and waiting room, confirmation calls for the next day, ensure all workload is completed by the end of the day
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience
  • Medical, law, insurance or technical writing background
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Windows environment
  • Demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment
  • Superlative communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Shows initiative and exhibits excellent judgement
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy
