Ingredion is currently recruiting for the position ofShipper & Receiver.
The
Shipper & Receiver will be responsible to perform shipping duties to ensure that the quality, quantity, labeling, and addressing of orders correspond to the customers' specifications.
A successful applicant will be responsible for safely operating equipment in the assigned area while maintaining a high degree of quality for our products and working as efficiently as possible for our continuous operation facilities.
Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Prepare shipping documentation and records for shipping. Attach identifying labels and tags to materials. Check all items to be shipped for customer specifications. Record outgoing shipments.
- Maintain shipping files and other required shipping documents.
- Follow plant operating procedures regarding operating material handling equipment related to shipping and receiving areas (forklift) and rail car movement and bulk storage operations.
- Load and Unload delivery vehicles with the use of the appropriate material handling equipment.
- Confers and corresponds with appropriate personnel to resolve problems related to damage, shortages and nonconformance to company specifications
- Maintain the work area and physical plant in a neat, clean and orderly fashion and follow sanitation schedule as prescribed.
- Participate in companysponsored training relating to material handling, safety, and quality
- Perform any other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Work Environment:
- Ability to perform work of varying physical demand, including extremes of posture, temperature and height.
Position type and expected hours of work:Full time position and ability to work rotational shifts in a continuous operation facility and overtime may be required.
Required education and experience:
- Post Secondary education, focusing on Logistics and Warehousing preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to manage an important function in a complex plant environment, including strong conceptual, problem solving and communication skills.
- Must have the capability to interact effectively at all levels of management.
- Demonstrated high degree of sound judgement, resourcefulness, initiative and innovation in handling complex technical assignments with mínimal supervision
Additional eligibility qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to working in a safe working environment, including a working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety or applicable provincial legislation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, good communication and time management skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge and experience in both HACCP and ISO standards would be an asset
