    Assistant teaching professor - Culinary Arts Department

    Position Type: Limited Term – one year

    Location: Kamloops, BC, Canada

    About the Role

    The Faculty of Adventure Studies, Culinary Arts, and Tourism Management (FACT) at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is seeking a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in the Culinary Arts Department. This one-year limited term position starts on August 19th, 2024, at the Kamloops campus. The role involves teaching, hands-on instruction, and various forms of services.

    Thompson Rivers University is located on the traditional lands of the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc and T'exelc within Secwépemc'ulucw, extending into the territories of other Indigenous peoples. Candidates with a commitment to decolonization are encouraged to apply.

    • Prepare, organize, and teach a variety of culinary courses
    • Organize special events
    • Mentor and advise students
    • Support student achievement
    • Engage in departmental administrative duties
    • Participate in special projects

    Qualifications

    • Red Seal Certification
    • Relevant Bachelor's degree or BC Instructors diploma
    • Graduate of a formal Culinary Arts program with industry experience
    • Classroom and lab teaching experience
    • Current Food Safe Certification
