The Business Development Representative is an entry-level position.

The person in this role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, scheduling meetings with decision makers, and building a portfolio of clients.

A new Business Development Representative will be given in-depth training on the sales process and how to effectively position NFI's services to create value for potential customers.

A person in this role is expected to be making a high volume of calls to new prospective businesses and scheduling meetings; in which a senior level manager will be included to aid in properly developing the opportunity and pushing to land the business.

This role is highly focused on learning and development. This role reports to the Sales Manager.

Schedule:
M - F 8:30 am to 5 pm


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Utilizing a variety of tools to find new companies that could be a good fit for our services
  • Identifying the proper contact at each company to call on
  • Researching the company and contact in order to develop the most effective messaging possible for the initial outreach
  • Dialing the phone 50+ times per day to try and land scheduled meetings with decision makers
  • Working closely with members of the management team to conduct discovery conversations with decision makers to identify opportunities for new business
  • Studying the sales process and mastering the language used when speaking with prospective customers
  • Learning effective questioning techniques and how to adapt to different personality styles
  • Becoming an expert on a multitude of logistic service lines and how we differentiate from the competition with each
  • Actively seek out additional, outside resources to further your learning and development of sales and logistics
  • Maintaining an organized and updated pipeline of prospects
  • Utilizing Salesforce and other tools to manage your outreach to prospects and keep notes on all interactions

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business or Supply Chain preferred
  • Previous sales/logistics experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency
  • Must be able to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and employees in a fastpaced work environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and GSuite Applications (Gmail, Word/Google Docs, Powerpoint/Google Slides, and Excel/Google Sheets)
  • Need to be tenacious, spontaneous and energetic
  • Willing to work as a team and driven for results
  • You will need to be selfmotivated and driven for success
