The Opportunity

The Commercial Manager is responsible to for providing commercial contract support to all projects under the Bridgeman's Services Group umbrella.

They will execute in ensuring contract compliance and support is met at a high level.


Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Preparation and management of contracts for the execution of marine services procurements and leases
  • Review, analyze, and prepare comments on contract terms and identify areas of possible risk and opportunity
  • Coordination of legal reviews and management of internal and external legal teams
  • Prepare client tenders and commercial bids to assist in the acquisition of project opportunities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard work practices and procedures for contract execution
  • Create and present proposals for projects both internal and external
  • Negotiate contracts with customers
  • Establish and maintain the project variation controls system and manage negotiations in line with contract requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the project specific contractual administration requirements
  • Support client and internal reporting
  • Support the formulation and negotiation of project contractual claims and counter claims
  • Write proposals and respond to bids as required
  • Maintain and provide updates on contracts once awarded

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration
  • Legal, commercial, technical or other relevant post secondary education will be considered
  • Mid to Senior level experience in contract management and commercial management fields
  • Experience in the construction management and ship retrofits is an asset
  • Thorough understanding of Bimco form contracts
  • Proven track record in contributing to the improvement of project profitability, cash flow and control of commercial risk
  • Commercial, financial, and contractual awareness
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial leadership skills with proven capability of working in a matrix environment and influencing leadership skills
