Toyo Tires Canada currently has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a WAREHOUSE WORKER/FORKLIFT OPERATOR at our Canadian Head Office in Vancouver, BC
OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Worker performs an array of functions that include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
In collaboration with the Logistics Team and all departments, the Warehouse Worker is a significant contributor towards the success of Toyo Tire Canada Inc.
("TCI").KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the company.
- Responsible for flow of product in and out of tire warehouse as delegated by Warehouse Supervisor or Distribution Centre Manager
- Inventory control, accuracy of recording data and understanding of basic computer skills
- Follow and implement company rules and procedures
- Pick and verify orders
- Unload/load containers and trailers
- Sort and place tires on racks or shelves according to organizational standards
- Label pallets and shipments
- Respond and serve customers while maintaining a high level of service
- Ensure packaging slip and bill of lading are duly signed before tires are shipped
- Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping racks, pallet area, and workstations neat; sweep, dust and mop; always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness
- Adhere to required safety standards by wearing the proper safety equipment and following proper safety protocols
- Assist in quarterly physical inventory counts
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Physically fit and able to lift up to 75 lbs repetitiously
- Good eyesight to work in warehouse setting and dim lighting in certain areas
- Ability to multitask in fast paced environment; prioritize responsibilities
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Operate forklift and standup order picker effectively and safely
- Forklift certification required
- Read and speak English effectively
- Previous experience in a warehouse is mandatory
- Strong worth ethic and teamwork skills
Due to the nature of this role, we will require successful completion of background checks including employment reference and criminal record checks.
LOCATION & HOURS
The position will be based out of our Vancouver location at:
Nelson Rd, Richmond, BC, V6W 1G- This role is a full-time, year-round 40 hour per week position (Mon - Friday, 8am - 5pm)
