Role:


This position is responsible for overseeing day to day inbound warehouse operations; scheduling, directing work, tracking performance and ensuring a safe working environment.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Oversee warehouse associates in aspects of receiving, lumping, shipping, replenishment, put away and/or stock rotation
  • Effectively schedule warehouse personnel to achieve productivity objectives within the warehouse
  • Manage and be actively involved in coaching, mentoring, career development, training, and performance management of associates to assist associates in consistently meeting company productivity and customer service standards
  • Provide leadership and compliance on company safety programs, sanitation and loss prevention direction to warehouse associates
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and administer cost reduction action plans
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies, including but not limited to Food Safety Policy, SOP's & regulations, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Antitrust policies and regulations, etc.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco's Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:


  • Minimum 2 years warehouse experience, including pallet jack and forklift experience.
  • High School diploma, postsecondary education an asset
  • Must have WHMIS and a good understanding and working knowledge of SyscoSafe
  • First Aid/ CPR training will be considered an asset
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel, IDS, SWMS and Sysco Appointment Manager
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to formally present ideas effectively to individuals or groups
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision
  • Reliable, responsible, and accountable for appropriately managing confidential information
