Illustrations need for a children's piano book

Job description
I am producing a children's sheet music book titled Dreamy Scale, featuring 12 original scale-based compositions. Each piece is written as a short, imaginative musical story rather than a traditional technical exercise.
I am seeking a talented illustrator to bring this magical world to life through cohesive, story-driven artwork across the entire book.
The story is set in and around a charming elven city, following a music-loving elf and her partner, along with several whimsical cat-human residents.
The world should feel warm, magical, and immersive — inviting children into a gentle fantasy setting.Scope of Work (Fixed Price – Full Book)
This project includes:
12 full-page illustrations (one per scale composition)
1 full wrap-around cover illustration (front, spine, back)
1 full-page title page
1 full-page credit page
Total: 15 illustrated pages
Creative Direction
The visual tone should be:
Magical and fairy-like
Kid-friendly and imaginative
Tasteful and refined (appealing to parents and piano teachers as buyers)
Charming and polished — not overly neon or overly childish
We are aiming for something that excites children while maintaining a level of sophistication suitable for adult purchasers.
What I Will Provide
Song title for each composition
Audio reference for each piece
A visual draft for reference (you are encouraged to interpret and elevate it in your own artistic style)
Style Preferences
Strong storytelling visuals
Expressive, whimsical characters
A cohesive fantasy world across all illustrations
Soft, harmonious color palettes suitable for a magical children's book
Deliverables
High-resolution, print-ready files (300 DPI, CMYK if required)
Editable layered source files (preferred)
Consistent layout dimensions across all pages
Contract duration of 3 to 6 months. with 30 hours per week.
