We are Pixels, a fast-growing consumer durables manufacturing company.We are looking for an experienced Computer Vision / Edge AI Engineer to build a custom video analytics layer on top of our existing CCTV infrastructure at our manufacturing facility.
Our goal is to improve workplace safety, monitor compliance, and optimize floor operations using real-time video feeds (RTSP streams). You will be responsible for developing, testing, and providing deployment documentation for a Python-based intelligent processing layer.Project Scope & Core Requirements:
The system needs to ingest RTSP streams from multiple cameras and trigger real-time alerts (logging to a database and audio alerts) for the following four deviations:
Station Monitoring:
Detect if a worker is absent from their designated seat/workstation for more than a customizable time limit t (using ROIs and Object Detection).
Proximity & Socializing:
Detect when a group of more than 2 workers forms and remains within a close distance (less than 1 meter) for more than a set time limit.
Mobile Phone Usage:
Detect workers using mobile phones during active shift hours (combining small object detection with pose estimation to reduce false positives).
Preferred Technology Stack:
Vision Engine:
YOLOv8 or YOLO11 (ultralytics) for real-time object detection and pose estimation.
Video Processing:
OpenCV / GStreamer for handling RTSP streams and geometric calculations (ROIs, distance).
Performance:
NVIDIA DeepStream SDK or efficient Python multiprocessing for running inference across multiple camera streams simultaneously.
Alerts/UI:
Basic Flask/FastAPI backend to log events to a database (SQL/PostgreSQL) and a simple dashboard to view logs.
Deliverables:
Python scripts/pipeline for the 4 logic requirements.
Instructions and tools for defining ROIs (Seats/Zones) on new camera feeds.
Deployment instructions for an On-Premise Edge AI Server / Cloud based server
Setting up everything and making sure we have a working solution in the end.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
