Description
United Gulf a prominent Nova Scotia developer with a wide range of projects incorporating progressive ideas from mixed-use master-planned communities to urban revitalization projects and multi-unit residential complexes is actively seeking a full-time in-house bookkeeper for our affiliated construction companies.
The position will be the primary bookkeeping role for the day-to-day and periodic tasks of the company, working under the direction and supervision of the Senior Accountant.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience related to:
- AP, AR, Payroll, HST, Remittances and other regular routines
- Bank and GL account reconciliations
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online, Sage and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment.
- A selfstarter, able to work independently and with mínimal supervision
- Familiarity with the general principles of accounting
- Canadian construction industry bookkeeping
- Produce work with a high level of accuracy
Roles and Responsibilities
- Tracking and managing financial data,
- Entering financial transactions into various databases,
- Factchecking accounting information
- Balancing and reconciling accounts
- Support the preparation of financial reports
- Establish and maintain charts of accounts
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
- Update and maintain the general ledger
- Recording of debits and credits
- Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions

- 8 hour shift
Experience:
- QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 3 years (preferred)
