Job Description:

Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks a
Materials Processing Lead (Saw) for our location in Kitchener, ON. Reporting to the Weld Construction Manager, this position will oversee activities within the Material Processing area.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversee all operation in the Saw Cutting areas in accordance with production requirements.
  • Report major problems or concerns with programs or machinery within the materials processing area to Production Manager
  • Perform periodic quality inspection on product leaving the designated area.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on machinery, escalating to the Production Manager if a resolution is not reached within 10 minutes of down time.
  • Provide courteous customer service to internal staff requesting services from the materials processing team.
  • Supervise materials processing staff, including delegating tasks, reporting absence, providing performance feedback to Production Managers, and other duties as required.
  • Work closely with machine operators to ensure the Materials Processing team is meeting production goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, fulltime, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 13 years' experience in machine operation and troubleshooting

SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Knowledge and usage of measuring and testing devices, overhead crane experience, hand and power tools.
  • Basic math abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
