Position Summary


We are a research team with the goal of improving the care of patients with COPD and other respiratory diseases through improving patient self-management and remote clinical monitoring.

We are seeking an energetic, motivated individual to work as a Research Analyst on our team.

The individual will be part of a clinical research team and will work closely with our Research Coordinator, Principal Investigator, and co-Investigators from collaborating institutions.

The individual will assist with the coordination and conduct of investigator-initiated research studies.

They must have excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask and solve problems in an independent manner, while collaborating with a team.


Duties

  • Assists in recruitment of study participants (e.g., identification/ screening, obtaining of consent, etc.)
  • Assists in the planning, review, implementation and coordination of data collection and source documentation, as per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines
  • Collects study data from participants or other sources in support of clinical and studyrelated decisionmaking, using predefined data collection tools (e.g. administering questionnaires, completing study worksheets, etc.) as per approved study protocol and authorized access.
  • May assist in coordination of patient visits and schedule as per study protocol
  • Interacts with participants to facilitate the completion of required research activities as per protocol and in collaboration with interprofessional team members, as needed.
  • May perform computer statistical analyses and generate response curves, status reports and other statistical reports, as required
  • Coordinates necessary data flow both internally, as well as externally with collaborators from other sites
  • May interpret results and prepare material for presentation, publication and/or grants
  • Conducts literature searches/ reviews for new proposals, as directed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or recognized equivalent, in a health or sciencerelated discipline
  • 1 to 2 years clinical and/or professional experience
  • Applies fundamental knowledge of clinical research principles and practice, and techniques relating to data collection, management and analysis
  • Applies knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, such as ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD, as required
  • Interacts with both internal and external contacts, primarily for the purposes of exchanging and/or clarifying of information and resolving problems within scope of authority
  • Demonstrates excellent competency in written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional communication and healthy relationships with staff, research participants and their caregivers
  • Research skills including chart review, use of REDCap
