Team Lead (HIA)

Purpose
The Team Lead (TL) provides leadership and support to Community Specialists (CS) and participants for assigned programs. This role will ensure program planning and implementation focuses on participant goals and meeting assigned outcomes.

The conscientious TL acts with integrity, is open to growth, lives our purpose, cultivates teamwork, and puts forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.

Key Functions

Informs, supports, trains, mentors, leads, and oversees direct care frontline employees
Plans programming, ensuring meaningful days and purposeful support
Foster genuine relationships promoting dignity, personal interests, and identities
Empower people with diverse abilities to create meaningful days and achieve their goals
Identifies and solves problems, building staff capacity in difficult situations
Conducts general administration, followups, documentation, and reporting duties as assigned
Ensures a risk free, stimulating, safe and supportive environment
Perform other jobrelated activities as required

Qualifications:

Minimum education requirement of High School Diploma with a minimum of 35 years of related experience; a diploma or certificate in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 23 years of related experience; or a University Degree in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 12 years of related experience.
Ability to remain calm in emotionally challenging situations and effectively use empathy
Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
Standard First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required
Clean class 5 driver's license and vehicle required
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Medication Administration, Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol are an asset

Working Conditions
This is a full-time seasonal position from June 19, 2023 to August 25, 2023. Shifts are scheduled between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm from Monday to Friday. Casual opportunities are available.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant from the Government of Canada, which requires that the employee must be between 15 and 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.

International students are not eligible.

Compensation:
$23.50 to $24.88 depending on experience and education
