Corporate Controller

OBJECTIVE:

We are looking for a Accounting professional to join our clients organization and lead the Accounting & Finance function of the company.

Responsibility for the accurate completion of a range of general accounting tasks, including payroll, accounts payable, credit, costing and banking.

You will also be instrumental in promoting an atmosphere of fiscal responsibility, collaboration and best practices across the organization.

This is a great opportunity to make your mark reporting directly to the VP/ CEO. Your success will be measured by assessing the accuracy and efficiency of reporting, interpretation and communication of financial data.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Take the company to the next level through your knowledge, skills and financial management expertise
  • Have the ability to identify strategic opportunities
  • Bring solutions to the table by recommending and/or performing actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Lead the company in compliance with all government legislation related to payroll and maintain all related employee and company records as required
  • Process biweekly payroll with excellent knowledge of legislative payroll requirements and payroll accounting for 100+ employees in multiple locations
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
  • Post journal entries, Balance sheets and P&L statements
  • Balance and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts
  • Prepare miscellaneous financial and labour reports as may be required by management
  • Take the lead on all financial audits and assist other departments with customer audits and in addition, work with auditors on annual audited statements
  • Be responsible for all accounts payable/accounts receivable
  • Monitor cash flow, daily bank reconciliation and substantial invoice payments to ensure cash is available and distributed as required

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:


  • CPA Accounting designation an asset
  • Manufacturing experience
  • 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Cost Accounting required.
  • Preparing monthly financial statements knowledge and skills.
  • Previous experience in Microsoft Navision (MS NAV)
  • Knowledge of Canadian GAAP
  • Ability to work well independently and support various levels of leadership, management and departments
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, diligence, and commitment
  • Proven track record of strong problemsolving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment with the ability to meet tight deadlines and complete multiple assignments
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
