Greenbelt is a local greenhouse operation located in Lynden ON. We grow produce, harvest it, and process it on a highly automated production line. Our team is growing fast and looking for talents to join us.

  • Job brief_
We are currently looking for a food safety manager to join our fast-growing team. Ideally, you have a passion for agriculture, food production and are knowledgeable in HACCAP, BRC, and GMP.

This is a senior role reporting directly to the president of the company, and it requires a lot of hands-on skills and a flexible work mentality.


  • Key Responsibilities_
  • Ensure that all work is performed according to pertinent GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA-SFCR Preventive Controls.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the HACCP System and SQF Program.
  • Lead the development, implementation maintenance of Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and SQF System.
  • Verify and validate the effectiveness of the HACCP Program/ Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and SQF System.
  • Supplier Approval, Review and Assessment based on risk and performance.
  • Compliant Handling pertaining to ingredients and packaging materials issue.
  • Manage and update customer database and food safety and quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Organize food safety meetings on regular basis
  • Organize HACCP Review Meeting annually or when there is change in the process or ingredients.
  • Communicate Company policies and procedures for a safe and clean operation.
  • Provide applicable training to employees

  • Job Type: Permanent Fulltime
Probationary Period: 3-months

  • Work Location: 200 Woodhill Rd, Lynden, ON L0R 1T0
Primary Shift Requirement: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Mondays to Fridays

  • Compensation: $70,000 to $75,000 per year
  • Benefits: Group benefit covering enhanced dental, vision, health insurance
  • Qualifications_
  • College/University Degree in Food Technology/Science or equivalent
  • Successful completion of HACCP program
  • Solid knowledge in BRC, SQIF and other applicable food regulations
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in similar role in the agriculture/food industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Knowledge of CFIA labelling and packaging regulations.
