Are you ready to make a significant impact in the heavy civil/marine construction industry? Van Pile invites you to be part of our team as an Environmental Advisor, where you can showcase your expertise and contribute to environmental sustainability in construction.


Position Details:

Anticipated 11-month full-time role in Prince Rupert with 21/7-day rotation on a 10-hour shift. Accommodation and travel expenses will be covered


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain detailed statistics, records, and field notes
  • Evaluate environmental conditions at project sites to identify potential impacts from construction activities
  • Collaborate with construction teams to assess environmental risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Conduct environmental safety training and safety orientations for workers
  • Prepare environmental inspection reports and management plans
  • Interpret environmental documentation and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Advise management on issues that may affect ongoing work
  • Promote safe working conditions and enforce environmental safety regulations

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and influencing capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of environmental management standards and legislation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in remote locations with varying schedules, including occasional night or weekend work

  • Environmental Professional designation (e.g., P. Ag., P. Bio., P. Geol., P. Eng.) preferred
  • High ethical standards and initiative
