DEMAND PLANNER

8 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION

On site at our Brantford Ontario head office and manufacturing plant
The Internal Job Title at SCJ is
Sr. Analyst, Demand Planning.

In this role, you will:


  • Ensure a rolling 18+ month forecast for a subset of the Canadian business is developed, reviewed, published, and adjusted as needed by partnering with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
  • Manage a portfolio of SKUs and will develop a forecast by using insights such as promotional plans, distribution changes, shipment history, competitor activities and marketing plans.
  • Be a key driver in creating and managing the true consumer demand signals by which to align the rest of the supply chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a key contributor in the Sales and Operations (S&OP) process as the process facilitator of Step
  • Analyze historical and future demand inputs such as distribution changes, price changes, new product launches and calculate their impacts on demand.
  • Work with crossfunctional partners on projects such as new product launches, discontinuations, and transitions to evaluate assumptions such as pipeline fill, and cannibalization.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, and Finance on advertising, promotional & pricing plans and evaluate against performance from similar historical activities.
  • Collaborate with top tier Sales Account Managers to capture key account changes such as distribution, promotional and POS changes, and ensuring changes are incorporated into the forecast
  • Work with statistical demand planner to ensure statistical models are creating sensible 24month rolling baseline forecasts
  • Ensure demand plan is shared in level of detail and timing required by internal customers and supply chain partners with documented assumptions, including risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct monthly root cause analyses on forecast error and identify corrective actions.
  • Measure, analyze, and communicate key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators, while driving continuous improvement.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • University Degree (essential requirement), preferably in Operations Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or Finance
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning, sales, and/or supply chain
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work crossfunctionally across all levels within the organization
  • Ability to drive action and influence decision making at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decisionmaking, problemsolving, and presentation skills
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience
