Song of Stars is currently looking for qualified instructors to join our Vancouver team
This is a _part time_ position and the amount of day's taught would be anywhere from 1 to 3 days a week on either Mon, Tues, Wed or Thurs.
Role:
A Song of Stars instructor will help form an empowering culture for students of all ages wanting to grow in their enjoyment of music.
Instructors are asked to bring their own unique approach to music instruction based on their individual level of experience in teaching, live performance and musical knowledge.
Instructors will be qualifying and nurturing each individual student's unique expression and taste in music and supporting the development of that.
We provide lessons for VOICE, GUITAR, UKULELE, PIANO, SONGWRITING, DRUMS, MUSIC PRODUCTION and PERFORMANCE (with lessons both in-person and online) and are always looking for motivated, creative and experienced instructors in these areas.
For example, voice may be your primary instrument but additional competencies in other instruments are valuable and add to the holistic approach we offer students at Song of Stars.

Qualifications:
_(Some additional qualifications may be needed depending on the discipline being taught)_
- Advanced skilllevel in the disciplines being taught
- Proficient in at least one instrument
- Ability to teach additional instruments is an asset
- Experience songwriting with the ability to teach songwriting techniques is an asset (prerequisite if teaching songwriting)
- Must have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the disciplines being taught
- Experience with live music performance
- Experience with recorded music an asset (prerequisite if teaching music production)
- Demonstrated ability to teach music to all ages (encouraging and inspirational)
- Formal education in music is an asset
- Teamoriented with a passion for the Song of Stars culture and company values
- Ongoing awareness of music trends, industry standards and music education
- Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson
- Ability to pass a background check
Compensation:
Song of Stars offers a competitive hourly rate that is based on education, experience and expertise.
