Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, and collaborating as part of the interdisciplinary health care team in the assigned areas, the staff chaplain responds to the spiritual needs of patients, families through visits, counseling, religious practices, and use of sacred texts.
The Staff Chaplain participates in appropriate committees and other interdisciplinary functions, and collaborates with other chaplains (Staff and Denominational), faith group leaders, and community visitors.
Other responsibilities include supporting and participating in education and program planning, documenting spiritual care assessments and interventions in the clinical record, and taking part in the on-call system.
You may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services across sites.About You:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Masters of Divinity (or equivalent Master of Theology)
- Certified member in good standing with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC).
- Certified Specialist in Spiritual Care through the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC)
- Certified Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Teaching Supervisor through the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC).
- Proficiency in spiritual assessment, relationship and intervention
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred
Hours:
- Short assignment, Fulltime position; 75 hours biweekly
- Approximately a 6month assignment
Compensation and Incentives:
$ $42.89 Hourly
