Founded in 1911 when Vancouver was just 25 years old, Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club traces its history back to the earliest days of golf on the West Coast.

First located on Canadian Pacific Railway lands, the Club moved in 1960 to the ancestral site of the Musqueam Nation's winter village.

Shaughnessy has served as the proud host of many prestigious events and notable figures in golf and tennis over these 100+ years.

Today's Club features an award-winning clubhouse, highly ranked and competitive golf course, indoor and outdoor tennis, fitness, and a golf performance centre.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Providing exceptional, personalized service to members and their guests, maintaining member relations and product preferences
  • Ensuring adherence to Club Rules by guests, members, and staff
  • Upholding food and beverage service standards, including Serving It Right protocols, and following Responsible Service BC regulations
  • Handling and resolving member complaints and feedback, seeking ways to improve service
  • Assisting in managing daytoday bar operations in the restaurants and outlets
  • Assisting in managing bar duties for internal and external events
  • Assisting in supervising assigned staff
  • Executing assigned tasks related to liquor requisition, inventory control, vendor relationships, bar par levels, invoice tracking, receiving variances, and cleanliness of bars and associated liquor storage units, under the direction of the Wine and Floor Manager
  • Creating cocktail program and maintaining drink recipe documentation, including seasonal and trend changes
  • Developing specialized cocktails for events when assigned
  • Staying updated on industry trends and sharing relevant information with F&B Management
  • Monitoring and supervising bar setup, closing, and maintenance, reporting safety concerns to the Wine and Floor Manager
  • Demonstrating excellent organization and time management skills, setting priorities for self and others
  • Participating in staff recruitment and training, focusing on liquor, beer, and wine knowledge
  • Collaborating with Wine and Floor Manager, Club Event Manager, and Assistant Food and Beverage Manager
  • Obtaining good working knowledge of computers, including Jonas, and all forms of electronic debit and credit terminals
  • Acting as a liaison to the Front of House team and other F&B outlets and departments
  • Supporting and/or participating in internal and external events at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club
  • Always presenting a clean and professional appearance
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by any member of the management team

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of one year's bartending experience in fine dining or casually elegant upscale environment
  • Vast knowledge of alcohol beverages and drink recipes; wine and beer knowledge are an asset
  • Attention to detail, speed and accuracy in performing job functions
  • Ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment
  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly and work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to understand a member's/guest's service needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of member information
