WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Report to the Manager, Market Research and GIS.
  • Produce and study market information, plus analyze internal and external reporting, to help inform decision making.
  • Conduct primary research activities such as survey design, analysis, insights and presentation.
  • Meet with business stakeholders to better understand their needs and recommend the appropriate research solution, such as surveys or focus groups.
  • Prepare reports on market, distribution channels, volumes, portfolio profiles, customer experience and competitor results.
  • Interpret data, create presentations and make recommendations.
  • Identify market influence, competitor product lines, value propositions and marketing activities.
  • Research available sources of information regarding markets, customers, opportunities, competition, performance, potential, developments, products and services.
  • Communicate with the sales team, brokers, competitors, vendors, suppliers, industry associations, government agencies and professional organizations to gather relevant information and intelligence.
  • Develop product and pricing recommendations that support strategic objectives.
  • Provide intelligence and segmentation information to sales and marketing teams to inform business development activities.
  • Design and implement surveys to identify brand positioning and value proposition relevance.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • You have a postsecondary education in Business, Economics, Statistics, Psychology, Market Research or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
  • You have training in statistical analysis using industry accepted software (SPSS).
  • You have an understanding of database analytical tools.
  • You have experience or been trained in conducting primary and secondary market research.
  • Training with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), such as ArcGIS would be an asset.
  • You have experience with working with third party suppliers.
  • You have experience in brand tracking, conjoint analysis and discrete choice.
