Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary:
$52,867.50 plus benefits


Reports To:
Manager, Youth Programs


Nature and Scope:

The Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Youth Take Initiative program in their designated area. They will ensure targets and outcomes are met while delivering the program to YMCA Standards. The Coordinator will build and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, nonprofits and the program participants.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Promotes the program and recruits suitable participants.
  • Coordinate and assist with volunteers, job placements, training, and developing legacy projects for youth
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local nonprofit organizations
  • Coordinates, provides and leads workshops to program participants in areas such as diversity, inclusion, work skills, problem solving, and other appropriate trainings.
  • Evaluate participants skills and find best volunteer placements for them
  • Conduct site visits for participant volunteer placements
  • Evaluate and adapt workshops to meet needs of the participants
  • Drive safe, fun, and participant focused experiences
  • Attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required
  • Complete required administrative duties

Qualifications:


  • Post-Secondary Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in a related discipline in Social/Youth Worker, Youth Care, and Community Services Worker.
  • Experience working with youth and or volunteers
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with youth participants, staff, and volunteers.


  • Computer proficient

  • Microsoft Office (including Office 365, Word, and Excel)
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR-C Certificate required, can be obtained within 30 days of start date
