About this Role:

Reporting into the Senior Manager of Data Analytics at Wave, as a Data Analyst you will be responsible for using tools to extract data, develop reporting, and deliver analyses that drive decision-making at Wave.

We're looking for a talented and curious self-starter with at least 2 years of experience, who is driven to solve complex problems and enjoys collaborating with other teams and stakeholders.

This individual must be able to extract insights from data and provide recommendations to support key decisions for the business.

This role is for someone who combines strong business acumen with analytical expertise and a desire to learn. Strong communication skills are a must to bridge the gap between different perspectives and between technical and non-technical audiences. We are looking for someone who loves using data to inform strategy, drive decision-making and to unleash business value.

Here's how you'll make a difference:

You will work with stakeholders to understand their challenges and goals, identify data analysis opportunities, and develop solutions to drive decision-making
You will partner with your fellow data analysts and data scientists to develop new analysis tools and to document best practices
You will facilitate the creation of reporting dashboards (via Looker), establish and interpret the performance of key metrics, and advocate for experimental best practices as we evolve the analytical maturity of the company
You will extract and transform data for use by stakeholders, ensuring data integrity where necessary in partnership with Data Operations

These will help you succeed:

You have strong SQL skills with experience querying large and complex datasets
Experience with Python for data analysis
You are comfortable developing reports and dashboards with Looker (or equivalent data visualization platforms)
You can effectively communicate complex matters and requirements between audiences, both visually and verbally
You are proactive, autonomous, and able to partner with business and engineering stakeholders to support delivery of key projects
You have the business acumen to identify and evaluate key performance indicators and provide recommendations that drive decisionmaking and propel business value

Nice to Have:

Experience with dbt to transform data
Experience working with dimensional models (i.e. star schemas)
Experience with R
Experience with analytics applied to business problems: creating lifecycle metrics, retention/churn analysis, correlations/regressions, etc
Experience with third party tools Segment, Amplitude
Experience with multipleproduct environments or diverse business models
Fintech experience, especially with Payroll, Banking, or Accounting industries
